Now that virus and spyware detection are derigeur, identity theft is the new battleground for security software.
ZoneAlarm's Security Suite 6.5 upgrade claims to protect your personal info from hackers in all the usual ways: via firewalls and an alert when your bank or credit card information gets sent or pulled from your PC.

But ZoneAlarm is also offering a free year of Identity Guard Card Theft Protection, which monitors the Web and black-market lists for evidence that someone has lifted your credit card info. On a lighter note, the new ZoneAlarm suite also has a Game Mode that suppresses firewall alerts and virus scans during gameplay because getting a firewall alert while two-shooting a Gnomish mage sort of breaks the mood.

The new ZoneAlarm Internet Security Suite will notify you when your credit card appears on the black market.
