Google, the search engine giant, is experimenting with a new feature on his search result pages. The keyboard shortcuts are the latest idea developed by the Google Labs team, and is meant to make navigation on a page easier.
Here are the easy-to-remember shortcut keys:
J Selects the next result
K Selects the previous result
O Opens the selected result
<Enter> Opens the selected result
/ Puts the cursor in the search box
<Esc> Removes the cursor from the search box.
This isn't available yet on the main page, but you can give it a try by adding
&esrch=BetaShortcuts to your search query. Here is an example:
