News - Stand Up to Wake Up

Helpero

This is a  very simple but in the same time very useful alarm clock concept.
The idea of the alarm clock is to force you after a rough night to get out of the bed and go to work without falling asleep all over again.

They will just force you physically to wake up to turn them off.

"The Carpet Alarm Clock is a variation to that whole meme. In order to turn it off, you have to get up and step on it. If you really want to make it a challenge, place it far away from your bed. Of course it wouldn't be a clock if it didn't have and LCD screen to indicate time too."

Designer: Sofie Collin & Gustav Lanberg

Let's just hope this concept alarm clock will see the light of day because I desperately need one.

Why don't you just put your alarm clock somewhere where you'd have to get up and turn it off? Duh. This invention is not great.

Will it have a snooze?

I would stomp it to utter and complete destruction then go back to bed!

does it fly well? or does it come with securing bolts to stop you throwing it out the window?

Yeah I used this logic myself and put my alarm about 5 feet from the bed, on top of a dresser. Problem 1 even tho it's the super loud blaring kind, the distance makes it easier to drown out. Problem 2 is even after I get up and walk over to it I still go back and fall into bed 99% of the time and end up repeating the cycle for the next 4-5 snoozes. A good one would be a blast of cold water right in the face when you mash the snooze. That would do it for me.
