John Kremer, Vice President of
Yahoo! Mail, announced that with the occasion of Yahoo! Mail's 10 anniversary, the service will offer everyone
unlimited email storage starting May 2007.
Yahoo! will eliminate the one-gigabyte cap on memory for people with free e-mail accounts and two-gigabyte cap of memory for those who pay for premium accounts.
The history of the service starts in 1997 when
Yahoo! Mail launches with 4MB of storage, after that the email capacity reached 100MB, and in 2005 Yahoo! Mail jumped to a 1GB email storage space.
Yahoo! Mail is the most popular web-based e-mail service and had more than 250 million users as of January, according to industry-tracking
